The Volunteer Centre was established in 1993, initially as a pilot program of the Support Office for the Movement of Self-Help Initiatives BORIS (Biuro Obsługi Ruchu Inicjatyw Samopomocowych) in Warsaw. In 1996 the Centre became independent and was registered as the Warsaw Volunteer Centre Association (Stowarzyszenie “Centrum Wolontariatu” w Warszawie).
To those interested in becoming a volunteer we offer support in contacting an institution of their choice, preparing them to volunteer work and assisting them in their everyday activities.
Apart from direct help offered by volunteers, the Volunteer Centre also serves as a unique support hub for non-governmental organisations and public institutions in the scope of: organising programs with the participation of volunteers, conducting training sessions for volunteer coordinators, providing legal consultations, developing and implementing volunteer work development strategies in local communities.
